St Patty's Day Tasting at our house. 3/16/13

Well, that was the evening in a nutshell. Did I mention the fish and chips and the roast beef, Irish cole slaw and tablet (thanks Donna)? We missed our token Irishman (Sterling Murphey). I think he forgot. Chico missed Drew. We did have a new guest in my friend Richard. Here is what we tasted:






Auchentoshen Three Wood 43%d ABV  (bourbon/Olorosso/Pedro Jimenez sherry)
    -smells a little bitter almost sour
    -tastes/smells like cinnamon on cheese
    -with water- creamy, slightly dessert
    -no trailing wood taste, no bitterness
This was not as sweet as I remembered. It could be the food we were eating while tasting.

Jameson Gold Reserve  Triple Wood   40% ABV    3 Whisky blend (one virgin oak)
    -smells like butter icing, dessert
    -tastes cinnamon peppery
    -with water- bitter wood
    -trails sweet oak

Bushmills Malt 16  40% ABV    Three Wood (America oak/Olorosso/port)
    -smells grapefruit and caramel
    -tastes citrusy sweet. peppery w/pancake batter
    -with water- tastes bitte wood
    -trails oak
